AAMA Scheme by SKM Government

With an aim to equip unemployed Mother’s (AAMA) of Sikkim belonging to economically weaker sections of Society with financial assistance, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha led State Government under the pragmatic leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri P. S. Golay has announced PROJECT AAMA Scheme from April 2022.
After approval from State Legislative Assembly PROJECT AAMA will provide financial assistance of ₹ 20,000 to 500 unemployed Mothers from every Constituency. The State Government will open bank accounts for non working mothers and deposit a yearly grant of ₹ 20,000 per annum.
The PROJECT AAMA Scheme was highlighted in the SKM Party’s manifesto and originally it strived to provide ₹ 50,000 but due to several financial liabilities caused by pandemic COVID19 it has decided to deposit ₹ 20,000 which shall be upgraded in due course of time.

From every constituency 200 garib AAMA are being selected under AAMA Scheme by the Government.

AAMA Scheme is a one of a Kind program launched by the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha led Government which solely aims at uplifting the poor women. This is a part of their promise to empower women and provide equal opportunity to all. The core idea of the AAMA scheme was formulated by none other than the president of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha cum Chief Minister of Sikkim Shriman Prem Singh Tamang Golay. This will help the women financially and uplift themselves in one way or the other.

They say that this is just the beginning and they would be increasing the number of AAMA’s per year so as to cover the whole state and none is left behind.
